Water Music: a special composition for the UF Water Institute opened the evening Reception and Poster Session.
The music was composed by Evan J. Kassof, a student in the Departments of Physics and Music at the University of Florida. The 10 minute piece was performed by Cellorando, a UF student cello ensemble, and was conducted by Dr. Steven Thomas, Assistant Professor of Cello at the University of Florida and director of Cellorando.
This music performance the first time the performing arts were incorporated into the Water Institute Symposium Program. Approximately 80% of the participants responding to the Water Institute Symposium evaluation survey indicated that they would like similar presentations of the performing arts to be included in future Symposia.
