Introduction
The Water Institute Graduate Fellows program supports interdisciplinary faculty-graduate fellow teams to conduct integrative research in an emerging area of water science, including the social, natural, and engineering sciences. The University of Florida Water Institute, with support from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Natural Resources and Environment and the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment, established this education and research initiative to meet the challenges of educating Ph.D. scientists and engineers with a deep knowledge in chosen disciplines, a strong holistic understanding of the bio-physical, technological, ecological, social and economic challenges to sustaining water resources, and a broad range of interdisciplinary skills.
Fellows benefit from international field experiences and integrative activities that enhance interdisciplinary skills. Entering Fellows must have academic training in natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, or law with strong demonstrated interest in water issues.
