Florida Trend article featuring Dr. Arnoldo Valle-Levinson ,

2016 Water Institute Faculty Fellow Dr. Arnoldo Valle-Levinson was recently featured in the first article of a Florida Trend series focused on sea-level rise in Florida. The article is entitled Learning to live with water, and it discusses the rate at which Florida’s coastal marine waters are expected to rise, as well as how local governments are addressing sea-level rise.

Dr. Valle-Levinson is a physical oceanographer whose recent research focuses on sea-level rise, water usage, and ocean water intrusion into freshwater aquifers and estuaries. He is working to shed some light on the effects of sea-level variability on saltwater intrusion. His contributions to this Florida Trend series provide important scientific context and evidence regarding impacts of sea-level rise on coastal communities.
